Quietly, without fanfare, the global chocolate and cocoa industry has worked diligently during the past not many months to resolve the forced labor issue in West Africa. The fortunate completion of comprehensive surveys about the question coupled with the imminent implementation of pilot programs, coincide with a broader effort at improving the economic condition of small cocoa farmers in every part the West Africa.
