Bank credit card charge-off rates improved on about 25 basis points (bps) in June 2002 according to Standard & Poor's Credit Card Quality Indexes, which were released according to the firm yesterday. These indexes monitor the performance of approximately $380 billion in receivables held in trusts of rated credit card-backed securities, which make up nearly two-thirds of the total bankcard market.
